CERB conducts an Impact Case Study on FrielsandCampina Pakistan’s signature initiative, EWID

We remain committed to driving social progress through projects and programs that support capacity-building and improve the livelihood of women. The EWID project is co-funded by Department of Foreign Affair & Trade – Government of Australia and aims to improve the socio-economic development of rural women. Through this initiative, from 2019-2021, we have educated and trained women farmers and helped rural women gain employment as Female Livestock Extension Workers. As of December 2021:

• 3000 women farmers have received Basic Livestock Training with an estimated 35% increase in animal productivity

• 110 and 20 women have been trained as Livestock Extension Workers and Village Milk Collection Agents respectively

• 1000 male farmers have also received gender-sensitization training, in an effort to change societal norms and impact the culture of their environment

• 110 entrepreneurs are playing an active role in their respective communities as Female LEWs, adding incremental income to their families.

The positive impact and huge success of the project is demonstrated in a case study conducted by the Center of Excellence in Responsible Business. Significant positive outcomes are showcased in the report that include improved standard of living for the families, elevation of the status of women within these households and higher investment in children’s education and nutrition, thereby improving the family’s standards of living as well as uplifting the communities.
