FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited believes in empowering communities. We are owned by a cooperative of 18,000+ dairy farmers globally. We work on the agenda of providing better dairy nutrition while empowering the local farming communities with opportunities for earning sustainable livelihoods. We add value to our supply chain infrastructure which becomes evident in various ways, for example, we helped train 71,930 farmers in 2018, and an additional 48,675 farmers in 2019, on best dairy farming practices to improve quality of milk and increase the yield per cow resulting in increased income and sustainable livelihoods. These farmers are trained on good dairy farming practices, including training on animal health, housing and barn design, feed and water, milk hygiene and quality, farm economics, calf rearing & environment, so they may bring forth the best yield each year and nourish the nation.
FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited has inherited the global dairy legacy of more than 140 years, and we apply the knowledge gained to help dairy farmers in Pakistan to further develop their farms. Our objectives are in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals: ‘No poverty’ (SDG 1), ‘Zero hunger’ (SDG 2), ‘Decent work and economic growth’ (SDG 8) and ‘Partnerships for the goals’ (SDG 17).
Providing sustainable livelihoods for farmers remains at the core of our sustainability strategy. Since 2005 to date, we have paid PKR 51 billion as direct income to Pakistani dairy farmers. We work with 250,000+ dairy farmers nationwide and strive to increase farmer productivity and create sustainable income.
