Strengthening Entrepreneurs and Dairy Stakeholders Network (SEaDS Net)

Women entrepreneurs and livestock owners are the backbone of our value chain at FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited, and improving their livelihood has always been a priority for us. Our Dairy Development Programs have been diverse and innovative with creating opportunities for these communities, and one such project recently undertaken was SEaDs Net.

Through the SEaDS Net project, our aim was to eradicate the hindrances that small farm holders face in the process of improving quantity and quality of their milk yield. Implemented in Ranipur and co-financed by DEG from public funds of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development, the project had significant socio economic impact. Over 7690 farmers were trained through 218+ training sessions, increasing their yield by up to 2 litres per day with an incremental annual income of US $320.

Additionally, 50 female entrepreneurs were trained who are successfully running their micro-enterprises and earning an average of US $1,343 annually. This initiative has made our milk collection operations more efficient and cost effective. Improved quality means lower procurement costs and increased yield means increased capacity utilization of our MCC (Milk Collection Centre) network, thus this Dairy Development Program led to
